A modular helicopter training system built around a physical AH‑64D cockpit, representative flight and avionics simulation, and multiple visual-system options.
Configurations can be tailored for individual or networked training, from cockpit procedures to complex tactical scenarios.
NewVision Digital’s AH‑64D simulation platform is designed as a modular training environment. The system brings together the physical cockpit, flight controls, avionics interfaces, visual systems and simulation software while allowing the configuration to be adapted to the customer’s training objectives.
The cockpit is the physical foundation of the system.
NewVision Digital can configure the trainer as a single or dual crew station, with cockpit structure, controls and interfaces built around the training requirement.
Depending on configuration, visual and helmet options can include Mixed Reality, 360° dome projection and an operational Apache helmet with IHADSS for "BAG" training.
The AH-64D platform can be configured for full VR or Mixed Reality operation.
In a Mixed Reality configuration, the user continues to interact with the physical cockpit while the outside environment is generated virtually.
This approach combines real controls and cockpit interaction with a flexible visual environment that can be adapted to different training scenarios.
The simulation environment can incorporate a representative flight model, avionics, sensors, weapon-system behavior and defensive-system elements.
Training scenarios can include terrain, targets, threats and changing mission conditions, allowing the system to support both procedural and tactical training.
Training capabilities may include:
The AH-64D platform can support connected training between multiple simulator stations and other compatible simulation systems.
Scenarios can include dynamic blue and red forces, Computer Generated Forces and human-controlled opposition.
The system can also support Distributed Interactive Simulation connectivity, enabling broader multi-system training environments.
Depending on system configuration, emergency conditions and selected failures can be introduced as part of the training scenario.
Weather and environmental simulation can also include reduced visibility, cloud, rain, wind and turbulence, adding additional operational considerations to the mission.
The debriefing solution is a separate NewVision Digital system and is not included as part of the cockpit package.
When supplied, it can provide flight-data recording, screen recording, external video capture and synchronized playback to support structured post-mission analysis.
The system can be integrated with the simulator or training center according to the required configuration.
The AH-64D system can be supplied as an individual simulator or as part of a complete training-center solution.
NewVision Digital can provide the supporting infrastructure required around the simulator, including system integration, instructor stations, training-room configuration, installation, testing, operator training and ongoing technical support.
The system architecture is modular, allowing configurations to be adapted to the available facility, training objectives and required level of integration.
NewVision Digital can configure the cockpit, visual system and simulation environment around the training objectives, available space and required level of integration.
